2026 Pageant Coordinator

Vanessa Stiffarm

Vanessa Stiffarm, i’kiwayohtowa meaning “Heard All Over,” is a proud member of the Kainai

Nation and the Elbow River Camp Coordinator at the Calgary Stampede. Her journey with the

Stampede began in 2016 when she was selected as First Nations Princess, an experience that

strengthened her confidence and deepened her commitment to Indigenous cultural representation and

community engagement. She began working with Elbow River Camp in 2018 and stepped into her full-

time role as Camp Coordinator in 2024.

In her role, Vanessa leads programming and engagement initiatives that celebrate and

strengthen relationships with Tipi Holder families from Treaty 7 First Nations communities. She has

played a key role in expanding the Camp’s interpretive programming and regularly leads tours for

government officials, Parade Marshals, and VIP guests, ensuring Indigenous culture is shared with

authenticity, collaboration, and respect.

As a mother and community leader, Vanessa brings a grounded and inclusive perspective to

her work, creating spaces where Indigenous voices are seen, heard, and celebrated. She is also a

recipient of the Tourism Calgary White Hat Award (Exceptional Service – Administration), presented by

Tourism Calgary to recognize premier ambassadors who deliver exceptional guest experiences and

embody Calgary’s warm, welcoming spirit.

Honouring Traditions and Reconciliation Society is proud to welcome Vanessa as the 2026 Princess Coordinator.
